THE 100% COMMUNITY COURSE: NO BIGGER CHALLENGE OR OPPORTUNITY

WELCOME FROM THE COURSE DESIGNERS

We have designed a radically simple plan to address one of the most complicated topics on the planet: the data-driven prevention of childhood trauma and social adversity.

Welcome to our grand experiment — the 100% Community course. After decades of the nation tinkering around the edges of preventing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), we’re embarking on the nation’s first comprehensive, data-driven, cross-sector and technology-empowered process of prevention.

We’re not content with only public awareness of trauma and maltreatment, we are committing to a results-focused process intended to achieve measurable and meaningful results for all your county’s children, students and families.

Yes, you’re on a social moonshot level adventure with us. Buckle up. Thank you for engaging in our movement to ensure trauma-free and thriving families inspired by Anna’s story in Anna, Age Eight. Equal thanks for joining the 100% Community — a book, a course, an initiative and most importantly, a movement to make every child a priority.

TEAM MEMBERS: If you are part of a 12-person 100% Community county team, you have an opportunity to discuss with your team members your experience with each lesson. We recommend organizing your weeks so that you have a schedule to meet up collectively with co-community organizers and team members.

INDIVIDUALS: If you are not yet involved in a 100% Community initiative, this course provides an overview of key concepts guiding the initiative, and the complexities of the data-driven prevention of ACEs, trauma and social adversity. Ideally, you have a colleague (perhaps a future co-community organizer or action team leader) you can share your insights with as you move through each lesson. As you move through the course, you will see how vital synergy, mutual support and collaboration is to what is a collective countywide process.
